Vincent Tiley x Butoh x SAORI

Thank you Vincent Tiley, for your butoh performance piece at our opening show! What a surprise and incredible idea, conjoining two performers into one body suit. The audience watched as they tousled and moved throughout the space, wearing a SAORI weaving made by Eriko Yamasaki. It really completed the night and matched perfectly with our acoustic musical performance. The two person body suit was a very intriguing approach to the collaboration project between weaver and artist/designer. We applaud the creativity and boldness in creating this piece. Bravo to the performers for your participation! Looking forward to your other artworks and career. Keep up the great work!

Weavings received in NYC! Building bridges from Japan to the U.S

Horray! Many of the weavings from Japan have arrived in the U.S. and have been delivered to our studio here in NYC! Opening the box and packages upon arrival, we were so excited to see all of the unique artworks created by such a diverse group of weavers. So many different personalities and creative outlooks coming through in each weaving.  Thanks to our Kickstarter project and to our generous pledgers, we are able to receive and work with these incredible pieces. What a joy for us to already begin building a bridge between Japan and the U.S. through Saori weaving. We are honored and so thankful for this wonderful beginning.
